Our Origin

ExportReady.africa was born from a frustration that every African exporter knows intimately. You grow exceptional produce — avocados that rival anything from Chile, chives that meet the most demanding European foodservice standards, macadamia that commands premium prices in Asian confectionery markets. You invest in your farm, your packing facility, and your team. And then you lose a contract — not because your produce failed a quality test, but because a certificate was missing, a document was expired, or a buyer could not verify your compliance credentials quickly enough to meet their procurement deadline. That experience, repeated across thousands of African agribusinesses every year, is what drove us to build this platform. We refused to accept that paperwork should stand between African farmers and the global markets their produce deserves to reach.

What We Built

We started with a straightforward question — what would it look like if African exporters had the same compliance infrastructure that large multinationals take for granted? What if a smallholder cooperative in Rwanda, a fresh herb exporter in Kenya, or a macadamia processor in Mozambique could present their GlobalG.A.P. certificates, phytosanitary records, and EUDR due diligence statements to a European buyer in a format that was professional, instantly verifiable, and always up to date? The answer to that question is ExportReady.africa — a platform where compliance documentation is not a last-minute scramble but a permanent, verified asset that works for your business every single day, opening doors that were previously closed and keeping them open long after the first shipment leaves port.

How Verification Works

The word verified gets used loosely in the digital world, so we want to be precise about what it means on ExportReady.africa. When an exporter displays our Verified badge, it means a member of our compliance team has manually reviewed their submitted documents — cross-referencing certificate numbers against issuing body databases, confirming expiry dates are current, and validating that the exporter’s national export authority credentials are authentic. Nothing on our platform is verified by algorithm or self-declaration alone. We do not list exporters — we verify them. Every business in our database has passed our compliance review, and that distinction is the foundation on which every interaction between an African exporter and a global importer on this platform is built.

The Bigger Picture

The global agricultural trade landscape is shifting faster than most exporters realize. The EU Deforestation Regulation is reshaping supply chains across cocoa, coffee, and rubber. GlobalG.A.P. requirements are expanding into new crop categories. Organic premiums are growing as European and Asian consumers demand more from the food on their plates. Retailers are tightening supplier sustainability mandates with each passing season. These changes are not threats to African exporters — they are opportunities. The exporters who arrive at the negotiating table with verified compliance credentials will capture the contracts that matter. Those who do not will find themselves increasingly priced out of the markets that pay best. ExportReady.africa exists to make sure African agribusinesses are on the right side of that divide — not scrambling to catch up with compliance requirements, but leading the conversation with verified credentials that command buyer confidence from the very first interaction.

Our Commitment

We measure everything by one outcome — how many African agribusinesses access new export markets, win new contracts, and grow their revenue as a direct result of being on this platform. That focus shapes every decision we make. It is why we built a free entry-level plan so that no African exporter is priced out of visibility. It is why we send certificate expiry alerts 90 days in advance so that a lapsed certification never costs an exporter a contract. It is why we publish free compliance guides in our Resource Hub so that the knowledge barrier to entering global markets gets lower every year. Africa grows some of the finest agricultural produce on the planet. Our commitment — the one we wake up to every morning — is to make sure the world knows it, trusts it, and never stops buying it.

We source fresh herbs and chives from East Africa regularly and compliance verification has always been the most time-consuming part of onboarding a new supplier. ExportReady.africa has completely changed that. We can now verify a supplier’s certification status before we even make first contact. It has cut our supplier onboarding time by more than half.

Before ExportReady.africa I was spending weeks preparing compliance documents every time a new buyer requested an audit. Now everything is in one place, verified and ready to share. I received three enquiries from European importers within two weeks of getting my Verified badge. This platform understands exactly what African exporters need.

The profile completion tracker and document expiry alerts alone are worth the subscription. I used to miss certificate renewal deadlines and lose visibility with buyers as a result. Now I get reminded 90 days in advance. Our GlobalG.A.P. has never lapsed since we joined ExportReady.africa and our export volume has grown by 40% this year.
